Prerequisites
Before you start screening candidates, make sure you have the following ready:
- An Active Account — Sign up for a free or pro plan at aicvscreening.com.
- Credit Balance — Each CV screening consumes credits. Free accounts start with a batch of screening credits.
- A Job Description — A clear, specific JD improves scoring accuracy. See how to write an effective JD.
Uploading CVs
- Navigate to Dashboard → New Screening.
- Paste or upload your job description.
- Upload CV files (PDF or Word, up to 250 files per batch).
- Click Start Screening — results are ready in under 3 minutes.
Reading the Shortlist
Each candidate is assigned a match score from 0–100 based on how closely their profile aligns with the job description. The shortlist view surfaces:
- Score — Overall fit percentage.
- Highlights — Key skills and experiences that match the JD.
- Flags — Missing requirements, employment gaps, or other notable items.
Exporting Results
Export the ranked shortlist at any time via Export → CSV or connect your ATS using the API.
Writing an Effective Job Description
AI screening quality depends directly on JD quality. Follow these guidelines:
- Be specific — Name technologies, frameworks, and minimum years of experience explicitly.
- Separate must-haves from nice-to-haves — Use distinct sections for required vs. preferred qualifications.
- Use outcome-oriented language — Describe what the person will own and deliver, not just responsibilities.
- Remove filler phrases — Avoid generic terms like "team player" or "fast-paced environment" that carry no screening signal.
